Support for SES Volunteers and Families
SES is part of the Department of Police Fire and Emergency Management (DPFEM), and is committed to supporting all SES members (volunteer and staff) to be mentally and physically fit, to be ready and capable to deliver a high quality emergency response to the Tasmanian community.
DPFEM Wellbeing Support delivers confidential, proactive and mental health and wellbeing services to SES members that comprises preventative, intervention and promotion elements across a mix of in-house and externally provided services. It blends the expertise available to create a holistic approach to each individual that seeks support.
Services are provided to all staff, including volunteers. Services to family members are based on their being a direct causal link with their needs and our volunteer.
MyPulse
MyPulse is a collection of free and confidential health and wellbeing resources and services offered exclusively to SES staff and volunteers.
MyPulse offers access to:
- Mental and Physical Health Screens
- Confidential personalised external coaching for eligible health screen participants
- Free Health Clinic Consultations (including lung function tests for firefighters)
- Fact sheets, lived experience videos and links to external resources and services
- Useful information and resources for families and friends
MyPulse can help you implement self-care strategies through access to resources and services to assist you in making yourself the priority. The program is designed to help you maintain or improve your mental and physical health and enable you to better help others.
